Day of the Conference

For successful login, you should be OK if you prepare the following in advance:
👉 Download the 3D world application and keep it open before the start
👉 Happiness@Work 2020 conference web page
👉 Sli.do web page, so you can ask questions during presentations

We will provide specific instructions before the conference begins on how to log in and work in the virtual world, so you don't need to be worried about the morning set up. We encourage you to test the environment in advance.
📅 On Wednesday, November 18th, from 15:00 until 16:30, we will open the virtual environment for you so you can try it before the conference starts.
Please follow the Conference page for further updates.

Allow sufficient time for the application to start and for you to make yourself familiar with the virtual environment. We encourage you to do so 30 mins before the start of the presentations. Ideally, you can come and try the virtual environment the evening before the conference. (also see "Is it possible to test the 3D World in advance?").

You can join the online conference anytime throughout the day. We have prepared the instruction banners in the 3D world and these will navigate you further in case you join after the start. On top of that, you will receive all presentations online after the conference, you can watch everything you might have missed.

Yes. All presentations will be recorded and sent to you via email. We will also provide answers to questions that speakers have not had a chance to answer.

Yes. Your questions can be raised using the application sli.do. At the end of every presentation, we will allow some time to answer a few of them. But you will not miss the answers to the rest of the questions, we will provide them after the conference.

We can imagine that combining the conference with childcare can be very challenging. But it does not mean it's useless to attend! We have prepared a smart solution for you, please refer to the question "What if I am not available the entire day?"

We have also collated several tips on how to make your kids entertained while you watch the presentation.

Workshop will be available at the stage in the 3D world, same as the presentations. In addition, we will have a breakout groups consisting of 5 to 10 people where you can discuss the content within your group. You can join the workshop also outside of the 3D world by watching the stream and joining discussions via Zoom.

We have thought about this and have good news for you! We understand concentration while sitting at the computer is a challenge, therefore we have incorporated so called "brain breaks". These are the activities that will help you to stretch your body and refresh your mind.

Technical questions

Please check the following:

  1. If you have a corporate computer and use a VPN, disconnect from it
  2. If you are on a corporate network and it can be assumed that you use a firewall, proxy, or other tools blocking or restricting access to the Internet, try to connect differently - via wifi for guests, mobile data, DMZ, etc.
  3. Pause antivirus or desktop / personal firewall if you are using them
  4. If you are using macOS, upgrade to the latest version (minimum Catalina 10.15.7, ideally Big Sur 11.0.1)

It's very simple. Have you ever played a video game? If so, it will be most likely very easy. If not, you can test the environment in advance so you have enough time to make yourself familiar with it (see question "Is it possible to test the 3D world before the conference?". But if you will find it challenging anyway, we have a plan B, please refer to the question "Do I have to join using the 3D environment?".

We highly recommend to use mouse to operate in the 3D world. You can handle it by using touchpad or other pointing device, mouse is just the most convenient.

Also, you can watch the user manual video to get yourself familiar with the world in advance and also take a look at "Do you have any tips & tricks to enjoy the 3D world more?"

It is an interactive online environment in which you can move, watch presentations at the stage, meet people.....everything without a need to leave your home. You are fine with the computer, internet, webcam and microphone.

For better understanding, you can watch the videos from the 3D world:
👉 3D world introduction
👉 user experience from one of our previous events
👉 user manual - how to operate the 3D world

We will provide technical support during the day, they will advise you whenever you have a need. Get in touch with us via Messenger 💬  or send us an e-mail ✉️.

Yes. We offer "chat-zones", in which you can meet other participants and make contact. The same as you do at the offline venue, while having refreshment or standing in the queue. In order to network in the chat zones, you need to enable your camera and microphone.

Yes. All Czech presentations are translated to English and vice versa. The language of the presentation is selected by choosing the 3D stage (in 3D world) or video stream (outside of the 3D world).

3D world is fully functional with Windows or macOS (Catalina 10.15.7 or above).

In addition, you need internet connection with the network bandwidth required for the video conference or stream. If your computer manages Zoom/Teams/Skype/other tools, you are good to go. The app is quite power thirsty :) so please do not forget to plug in your charger.

You don't need to.
All presentations can be watched as a video-stream that will be available after you log in on our webpage. You will also be able to join the workshops via Zoom application.

Of course 😉

The best thing to start with is to watch the video tutorial  and then there is a few more features:

  1. If you want to leverage the maximum area of your screen, turn of the "full screen" mode - which can be done either via Menu / Settings or by pressing "Alt-Enter" keys. This is usefull also in case the lower edge of the screen is overlaped by the Windows taskbar (which is the case if you cannot see e.g. the Mic / Video buttons on the lower right).
  2. If you would like to quickly send a text message, just hit "Enter" key and continue typing your message. By hitting "Enter" again, you send the message. This trick can be used to quickly greet someone you pass by or if you meet someone out of the chat-zone.
  3. Would you like to send message to a specific person? Klick on "Users" button on lower left, choose from the list of the people in 3D world (listed alphabetically). Click on "message" and continue typing your message, sending it by "Enter". Chat in the 3D world is not made for long letters and discussion, rather to transfer short messages like where to meet and chat or exchange information you need - phone, e-mail or code for the raffle, LinkedIn profile or web.
  4. Would you like to make a selfie screenshot and the chat window or other controls are ruining the view? Just hit "Ctrl-H" and make them dissapear. Second push and they are back.
  5. The same thing with your Avatar - is it in the way, blocking view on a poster or stage? Hit "Ctrl-P".

You will recognize the organizers in the 3D world by the color of their name - it will be orange.

Every exhibitor will have a real online exhibition stand in the 3D world. You can take your virtual person and visit the stands, interact with exhibitors. EXPO can be visited only in the 3D world.

Networking

Yes. We have prepared a "chat-zones" where you can meet other participants and talk to them.

For better understanding, you can watch the videos from the 3D world:
👉 3D world introduction
👉 user experience from one of our previous events
👉 user manual - how to operate the 3D world

Every attendee has a name flag above his virtual person. All attendees can be seen in chat and you can easily connect and meet in the online environment.

For better understanding, you can watch the videos from the 3D world:
👉 3D world introduction
👉 user experience from one of our previous events
